It has been 8 months since I started seeing Dr. Alobeid and his amazing staff, since day one I knew I was thankful to have found his practice. I’ve seen “weight loss” doctors in the past but none who cared about my personal needs until finding him. In the past 8 months I have received the information, tools, and support I needed to turn my health around! I have lost 23 pounds of FAT (which is a lot when you’re barely 5ft tall), I have cleaned up my entire lifestyle, and I have .....

  • Does my health insurance cover the weight loss treatment?
Physician visits, dietician sessions, some medications, and blood tests are covered by most insurance policies. However, body composition tests are not always covered and cost $75 each. Body composition tests are important for tracking your progress and will be administered at the start of the weight loss program and again every 3 to 6 months. For more information about the body composition test, please visit our website, and watch the video under weight loss the right way.
  • How quickly should I expect to start losing weight?
Some patients exhibit immediate weight loss within the first two weeks of starting our program, while others take between four and six weeks to start losing weight. A healthy weight loss rate is about 2 pounds per week, which equates to 8 pounds per month.
  • Do I need a blood test before starting the program?
Yes, blood tests are necessary to rule out any underlying conditions that may interfere with your weight loss journey. If you have already had a recent blood test done by your doctor, we will only order blood work if important factors are missing or were not analyzed previously.
  • What is the cost of the weight loss program if I don't have insurance?
We offer flexible and affordable plans, designed to work with any budget. You can also enroll in the monthly membership plans to reduce the cost of each visit. For more details on pricing, please check out our website.
  • How often do I need to be seen for treatment and/or follow ups?
After the first visit, patients will be asked to return for a follow up within the next 1 to 2 weeks and then every two weeks until the doctor believes your condition is stabilized. Once the condition is stabilized, we recommend that you schedule a follow up once a month.
  • Do I need to take medication to lose weight?
Medication is prescribed on a case by case basis. Some medications may cause weight gain, in which case we will switch you to an alternative medication to help you lose weight.
  • What is the purpose of the program and what should I expect?
The purpose of the program is to correctly enable weight loss in a healthy and efficient manner. We target excess fat, while facilitating water retention and muscle growth, and address underlying conditions which could interfere with your ability to lose weight. Of course without any surgical intervention
  • Once I start taking medication, will I need to be on the medication forever?"
The duration in which you are on medication depends on your starting point and desired weight loss. If certain medical conditions apply, you may need to stay on medication for longer to prevent relapse.
  • How much exercise is recommended for weight loss?
Exercise is essential for maintaining muscle mass while losing weight. Our team will provide you with all of the exercise information necessary to see results.
  • Do you have a dietician or nutritionist available to consult with?
    Yes
  • Can I enroll in the weight loss program and still keep seeing my primary doctor?
    Yes
  • Why don't other doctors prescribe Phentermine? Is it safe?
Phentermine is an FDA approved weight-loss medication. Other doctors may not be aware that recent studies have concluded that Phentermine is a safe and effective way to treat obesity. Like any other medication, there can be side effects. Consult with your doctor to learn more about Phentermine and its potential side effects.
  • Can you treat obese/overweight pediatric patients?
Yes, Dr. Alobeid a board-certified family doctor and he treats patients of all ages.
  • Which medications will I be prescribed during my first visit?
The doctor will select the appropriate medications for you based upon your medical history and any prior knowledge of contraindications to certain substances. If you have any further questions, you can call us at (219) 736-900 or visit our website and message us from there.
